Ok, this is funny (at least to me). I stumbled across a link to this at octobrx’s site. This might be the end of the world as we know it, but only if it wasn’t a hoax. Click on the picture to the right to go to mslinux.org. There is another similar site right here. The frightening part will be when this isn’t a hoax and MS is actually selling a distro.

I Need A Logo
Ok, I’ve only had this layout for my website for about 6 months (though only uploaded for about 4) but I still have yet to come up with a logo to slap in the upper left corner of the page… the oval is just begging for something to put in it… any ideas? any charity logos? Email me and help me out.
New Hood
So I finally broke down and ordered the new ram air hood for my GTP… there is a link to it on my GTP page. Now I just need to wait the 4 to 6 weeks for it to be made and delivered and I’ll be one mod closer to where I want my car to be.
Webcam
I dug my old Connectix Quickcam VC out of the closet and hooked it up and for some reason it works well again. I now have a webcam link on the menu, but right now it isn’t in a room that is even frequented, so the picture isn’t really going to to much for the moment… but soon I’ll move it. The image updates every 30 seconds.
Back to Updating
Ok, I finally went through and converted my site to includes and templates so I can put forth much less effort and still update my site… gotta love updating one file and changing every page instead of manually changing every one. Also, I am using Blogger to do the main page so I can dump snippets in here much easier… it also allows me to archive past news even though nobody probably reads this (or cares about old posts).
Back From New York
I’m back from New York (and Connecticut since I was only in NYC half a day) and I had a good time.. I got to see all the fun stuff I wanted.. walked around Times Square and visited WWF New York, saw the Statue of Liberty from Battery Park, saw Wall Street, and ended the day at the Tim McGraw and Faith Hill concert at Madison Square Garden… it was pretty cool… of course, now I want to go back, but that happened with Los Angeles back in March too… go figure. Thanks Heidi!!!
This Rules
This appears to work well, I like this Blogger thingy… now if only the DSL at home gets back on par, I’ll actually start using this to keep brettly.net updated on a regular basis. Woohoo!!!!
Moron…er more on Battlefield Earth
Entertainment Weekly seems to agree with my thoughts on Battlefield Earth too. In the latest issue (#542) they printed their version of the movie poster with more accurate review quotes. I think my favorite is “The ‘Showgirls’ of sci-fi shoot-’em-ups!”. Amen to that. Click on the picture for a larger version.

Other Movies
This weekend’s moviegoing was definitely much better. First, Friday night I went and saw 28 Days with my friend Mandi. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it was a really good movie. I haven’t been in rehab but they did a good job in my opinion of not glamorizing rehab or making it look silly.
On Sunday, my roommate and I went and caught Road Trip. This movie lived up to my expectations…it was funny in a dumb way and just wrong in so many ways. If you are looking for a movie that is just there for humor and gratuitous nudity, this is a movie for you.
Movies, movies…
If you are thinking about seeing a movie soon, DON’T make it Battlefield Earth. I don’t think I’ve sat through a movie that bad in years, if ever before… Go see Gladiator, it is cool and well worth the money. Here is a quote from Roger Ebert about Battlefield Earth that sums up the movie perfectly.
Some movies run off the rails. This one is like the train crash in “The Fugitive.” I watched it in mounting gloom, realizing I was witnessing something historic, a film that for decades to come will be the punch line of jokes about bad movies.
Read his review in its entirety. This is one of the few times I agree with a critic.
